TIM (Tekline Information Manager) MULTIMEDIA Version

With TIM MULTIMEDIA we enter a new dimension in information technology. With the availability of a wide range of video and audio files now available from your digital camera, presentation videos, business walk-throughs, videos from the internet like YouTube, movie trailers galore and research media, the need to manage these are just as important.

TIM Multimedia incorporates all the features of TIM FREEware, TIM Standard and TIM Galleria but now you can maintain a list of videos such as flash movies, and a playlist of audio files such as MP3. Furthermore, you can even view the media from within TIM Multimedia because it uses an application that was originally designed specifically for TIM.

TIM Multimedia retains all the features of the aforementioned previous versions, but now you can develop a system that incorporates all these as well as playing videos for business (training videos, walk-throughs), personal (digital camera videos, movies trailers), Research (documentaries) etc;

Activating TIM Multimedia for only £25

You will have downloaded TIM FREEware and may have already created a number of groups and associated topics. But you would like to take advantantage of the word processor functionality found in TIM Standard, the photo features of TIM Galleria and the ability to play vidoes and audio files as well.

You need to purchase a key code that will convert TIM FREEware to TIM Multimedia. It only costs £25 (or equivalent currency) and you can purchase it online or send me a cheque for that sum to the address at the footer. A site license is available for a modest fee of £175, enabling you to use this version on as many computers in your workplace, very useful if you are involved with graphics, videos and audio files - perhaps in an education establishment such as a college or school.

Once you have purchased the key code(it does not matter where you live), the key code will be emailed to to you. Then all you have to do is simply click on Help at the top of TIM FREEware and select Register from the menu and then enter the key. TIM FREEware will automatically change itself to the TIM version you have paid for, in this case TIM Multimedia, and away you go. It can't get any simpler than that.

Using TIM Multimedia

Having purchased your key for TIM Multimedia for (£20) as soon as this is entered in the registration box, your TIM FREEware becomes TIM Multimedia. All that you have created remains untouched. At first, apart from the name changing from TIM FREEware to TIM Multimedia nothing else seems to have happened. On the contrary a lot has happened. First I would suggest you look at the TIM FREEware, TIM Standard and TIM Galleria tutorials as they are all applicable in TIM Multimedia. What is new is the the ability play a wide range of video files such as .flv, .mpg, .avi and audio files such as .mp3. wav. And to to do this a special media player was developed to play these files known as Tekline Universal Media Player.

In TIM Galleria, when creating a Topic we had two Types to choose from set by two icon buttons. Clicking on either one and the type number associated with the button and the kind of topic created would be inserted. Then you type in the topic name as normal and then save in the normal way.

When you add a topic in TIM Galleria there were two Type buttons. With TIM Multimedia there are four.

With TIM Multimedia there are now four icon buttons below the yellow topic editing box. Click on either one and the type number associated with the button and the kind of topic created will be inserted. Then you type in the topic name as normal and then save in the normal way.
